Covid-19 Updates – Testing & Vaccines
Updated 04/01/22
Please note that you can book Covid-19 tests directly through the HSE. Please see this link –https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/covid19/testing/get-tested/
PCR tests are recommended for the below groups:
- over 39 and have symptoms of COVID-19
- a child who is under 4 who has symptoms of COVID-19
- had a positive antigen test in the past 24 hours
- healthcare workers
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, and are aged 4 to 39 you should use antigen tests. Do not book a PCR test. You can book antigen tests online from the HSE.
Covid-19 Vaccines
The HSE are recommending Covid-19 booster doses to give better protection to people who have already had a Covid-19 vaccine course. You need to wait 3 months (at least 90 days) after your vaccine course before you can get a booster. There are several ways to get a Covid-19 vaccine:
1. First Vaccinations – anyone aged over 5 years old
Please book online on the HSE website https://vaccine.hse.ie/, or call the HSE Freephone line: 1800 700 700
2. Booster Vaccines – HSE walk-in centres
The HSE are running walk-in clinics for specific groups on specific days and times. The closest is Richmond Barracks, on the 68 bus route from Rialto, or a 5mn walk from the Drimnagh Red Luas stop.
